Hello, Summer

Been a long time since some Han and Leia...feeling a little rusty, but good!

I'm doing 2.5" x 3.5" sketch cards with whatever the heck you want on them. Contact me if interested!

Owner's Manual

Inspired by a photo of Harrison in costume reading a 'motor' magazine. Get well soon, my man.

Future Ahsoka

I got to watching The Clone Wars series on Netflix, which I was initially not much a fan of. Having watched it in it's entirety, I think it's quite awesome. I found myself very attached to Ahsoka by the end, a character I absolutely loathed in the beginning.

I was intrigued by a certain episode where she has a vision of her "future self"...so I drew "future Ahsoka". Because why not.

Graphic

While I do tend to trudge into this territory anyway, my art teacher has been reinforcing it for the past couple of weeks. I was also flipping through some old Marvel Star Wars comics and took some notes on how they were colored. I went off in a rather different direction, but that is where the inspiration lies. :)

Also, a sketch (with my pens, of course!):

More Pens!

But first I just want to say, hallelujah, I got Photoshop back. GIMP is a nice, free alternative, but it just doesn't quite cut it...well, it is free.

I treated myself to some more pens of different sizes and now I'm having twice as much fun as before. I did some line work of Leia in her brief, but awesome, Bespin outfit.

Plus, hey, happy birthday to me. I hope I get more pens... ;)

Han!

I bought myself a new pen that I've been experimenting with. And what can I say? I love drawing Han's profile. I've probably drawn it 100 times already. I suppose the angular-ness of it is what I enjoy. I attempted Leia as well, but she wasn't going the way I wanted.

As a bonus, the very first experiment I did with my fabulous new pen. It also features a similar Han head, but the rest was just what ever came out.

Ta-dah.

School and music have been sucking up my art time, so I haven't been too productive. In fact, I've gotten pretty rusty. I have nothing presentable that I've done recently, but here is an older sketch I did a few months ago that I wasn't particularly happy with. Again, with the sketches!

More Sketching + Goggle Love

I got this idea for a little project; making Han and Leia look ridiculously badass, something laced with testosterone. Most importantly, an excuse to show my respect for the goggles (in case you weren't aware, goggles are badass). I was thinking of doing it like a comic book cover, but we'll see how it goes. For now, enjoy some of the sketches from this evening:

Bonus! Here's a digitally colorized version of Leia:

...Stuff.

These are just a few little doodles from the past month or so sitting in my sketchbook. The first was just more messing around with colored pencils. The second is an angry Leia, always my favorite kind of Leia. And the last is just practice with male anatomy because it's frustrating to draw. Obviously, this is exaggerated, because exaggeration is more fun. Always. He's missing some...parts (I know, you're disappointed I didn't give him hands!), but he ended up with Han's head, so there you go. Han Solo on steroids.

And look forward to some spicier works in the near future. Oh yeah, baby.

When he's not acting like a scoundrel.

Here comes the cheese. This "vision" came to me one night and I scribbled it down...then I forgot about it. Until now. Not that it's entirely original, I'm sure thousands of fanfiction stories floating around out there on this very subject that caters to the severe Han and Leia fan. Han comforting Leia over the loss of Alderaan. So romantic and all that junk. Although Leia shows absolutely no remorse at any point in the film and I'd guess Han is still kind of a jackass at this point. An adorable jackass, nonetheless. Oh, where is my Valentine's Day spirit?

You could use a good update...

Well, I got absolutely nothing done that I should have gotten done over my break. In my final hours before doom, I whipped up this little colored pencil sketch. Derpy Han and Leia, based on a picture I'm sure you're familiar with. Hope you all had a good new year and whatnot!

Aww, how out of character. Your heart is melting.

FIGHT!

I often see people use the joke that everyone on the base was betting on Han and Leia in their stories, so I made a poster based on that in the style of classic boxing match posters.

Sketchy

This first thing, I was messing around in a sketch pad and I thought it turned out pretty interesting.

And this is just some junk from my notes that I'd like to do a digital drawing of, just because that scene makes me laugh. I'm sorry, Han.

Would you like me to retrieve your box, your shortness?

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking the height difference between these two is almost comical. Knowing that there are scenes where Carrie Fisher needed a bit of help in the height department just makes watching Star Wars that much more enjoyable for me. But I'd better shut my mouth before George gets ideas for more digital enhancements, if you catch my drift...

The South Passage

This is probably one of my favorite pieces, just because I spent so much time working on it. Though it's probably the most unoriginal as I based most of it off of a photo, but as you might start to notice, I can't resist the dark, contrasty look. The play of shadow and light is completely fascinating to me, and though I don't consider myself all that great at capturing it, practice makes perfect, right? Riiight...

So here is Han and Leia having one of those moments.

And by 'Tumblr' I mean...

No masterpiece here, by any means. This was just a goofy little doodle I made when I first got my hands on a tablet (and something to maybe amuse those Tumblr rats). Imagine the after party of the Yavin ceremony, and a Han Solo who has probably had one too many...

Now that I'm looking at this again, there should probably be a bunch of passed out rebels lying across the counter...perhaps that can be my part 2. ;)

Speaking of crazy parties, here's a special bonus...

Hold Me...

I don't do digital art often, but I like to give it a shot on occasion. I'm not all the comfortable with it, but it is awesome to have an 'undo' button when doing art. Here we have a heroic Leia holding a fresh-out-of-the- carbonite Han Solo. A romanticized rescue.

The Empire Strikes Back

Here's a piece I did about a year ago. The Empire Strikes Back will always be a favorite film of mine, and I've always had a particular fondness for this poster. So, I did a little stylized tribute to it one night after working on another piece for an art class. Again, with charcoal. 18"x24".

Some Kind of a Welcome

So since I've got this account, I figured I put it to use. Basically, I'll just be occasionally dropping my Han/Leia-Star-Warsy art down in this space for the internet to hopefully enjoy. And while you're here, go say hey to my buddies over at the HanLeiaFanFicWriters.

Here is the most recent piece I did with charcoal, one of my absolute favorite mediums to work with.
